In this multi-level, open-format course, we begin each day without horses, gathering as a group to explore the key needs of each individual person and their horse. From these conversations, we shape the focus and flow of the day together.
The format is intentionally flexible and responsive, weaving together group learning and individual sessions, allowing each partnership to be met where they are while still benefiting from the collective experience.
If you have never worked with me before, I do recommend, at some point, attending one of my core curriculum courses. These are more structured programs with a clear format, where I introduce specific focus areas in depth. Examples include:
-
Grounded Beginnings – Creating connection, communication, and developing feel
-
Liberating with Liberty
-
Posture & Biomechanics Groundwork Therapy
-
Positive Reinforcement & Marker Training
-
Riding with Synchronicity
The multi-level, open-format course offers a gentle way to experience my approach for the first time, while also providing a space for those who have completed the core curriculum to integrate, refine, and advance their learning.
All teaching in this course is grounded in building connection and relationship with your horse. This is — and always will be — the number one priority in all of my teaching.
We begin by establishing clear, two-way communication between you and your horse — with us being as skilled at listening as we are at directing.
From there, we develop your physical skills both on the ground and in the saddle. Through ground handling, ground play, and riding, we focus on creating clear communication, refined feel, and balanced movement for both horse and human.
For learning to occur — and for play, joy, and genuine fun to emerge — both the horse and the human must feel safe, relaxed, and calm. This feeling of safety forms the foundation for everything that follows.
Closely woven through the work is the development of the horse’s posture (and your own), supporting improved biomechanical function and the ability to engage the hindquarters in a way that strengthens the horse for riding.
Better biomechanics make everything more comfortable, more enjoyable, and safer for both you and your horse. They also support your horse in becoming more athletic while remaining sound and resilient for longer.
Whether you are a pleasure rider or a competitive rider, the principles and skills taught in this course will be immensely valuable and will enhance your partnership, performance, and enjoyment with your horse.
This is FEEL GOOD HORSEMANSHIP – it causes horses and humans to FEEL GOOD !!!
Come along with or without your horse.
Of course, if you are able to bring your horse, your learning will be maximised — nothing replaces hands-on experience and direct feedback from a supportive instructor to accelerate learning.
That said, there is also the option to attend without a horse. Participants without horses are very involved in the course, actively participating in all theory sessions, Q&A discussions, and most simulations, as well as observing demonstrations and watching those working with horses practise the techniques.
Attending without a horse is not a passive experience. You will not just be a “fence sitter”. These observation-based and experiential learning components make up a significant portion of the course, which is why the course fee is priced accordingly.
Investment The cost to come with your horse is $660 (Early Bird EB) price for 3 days if full payment is made before Feb 16th. After that the full price is $770.
The cost to come without your horse is $65/day EB price. After that price is $75/day.
